FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS AND TIPS AND TRICKS

What should we wear?

Please for the love of everything holy….do not wear jeans and all matching black or white turtlenecks. Hello 90’s!
The most important piece of advice I can give you about clothing is - don’t worry about “matching”, try to coordinate instead.

What time?

My preference for outdoor session times will always be evening time around 1-2 hours before sunset. I know this isn’t always possible, so there are always exceptions and we can make a lot of awesome things happen at other times of day. Evening is just the BEST of the Best for lighting.

Can we bring our dog?

I would seriously be mad at you if you didn’t. I am extremely critter friendly and they are part of your family….so YES!!!!

I have a zit/bruise/missing tooth/cankles….can you retouch that?

Short answer….Yes.

Long answer. The last time I checked I was not the photoshop oracle. Maybe a wizard, or a ninja….but not an oracle. I can smooth your skin no problem. I can even suck and tuck a rogue back roll from time to time. Please keep your retouching requests to a reasonable level of expectation. At the same time, if there is something bothering you, please shout it out and I will do everything in my power to make it happen.

What happens if it rains?

I love working with the sun, so rescheduling to get that perfect light is not a problem with me. There will be no charges for reschedules. Your session fee is transferable. So no worries at all.

My kid is the devil….are you an exorcist?

I love a good challenge, but we all know that hormones (teenagers) and teeth (toddlers) suck! You know your kid. If you think there is no coming back from their bad attitude that day, then let’s not waste anyones time and just reschedule. No extra charge for demon avoidance.

Do we need to come up with poses?

Nope…. I’ve got it all under control! No Pinterest list necessary!! I will pose you when needed and catch the in between moments when I can.

TIP #1

Try to keep discipline to a minimum at the session and shortly before. We don’t want to cause anyone to have a bad attitude. Even at the session, have a little bit of a softer hand. Sometimes I like to roll with a little orneriness. Especially with toddlers, who tend to be a walking middle finger. When you first show up to the session, let us get to know one another a bit before enforcing that they sit down and smile for me. We might start by playing a little bit to get everyone warmed up. I will give you the hairy eye ball if I think behavior is getting out of control.

TIP #2

Don’t force a certain type of relationship. If you aren’t a lovey dovey, ooshy gooshy family…..don’t try to force that. Be who you are and be proud of that.
