Michal & Scott - Marion Illinois Wedding Photography

This whole day was filled with people who are beautiful inside and out!  They have such a fun story.

Scott is from Nashville TN, Michal is from Marion Il....but they met in South Africa.  Michal had been there for 2 years doing mission work and Scott came to South Africa to get his Masters Degree in Theology.  I think we can just say it was meant to be! :)

*a few film shots*

Their ceremony was amazingly spiritual and meaningful. They performed a beautiful foot washing ceremony symbolic of Jesus washing the feet of his disciples as a sign of his humility and service to them.  This was symbolic of their devotion and service to one another.  B-E-A-Utiful!

Scriptures were read in Xhosa, Afrikaans, and English representing their time in Africa.

They were so much fun!!

a couple more film shots....I. am. in. love!

The judges were gracious...

Wedding Date: August 17th 2013
What was the most memorable part of your day? (Scott) If we have a black and white life, the whole day was in vivid color, so this isn't an easy question.  If something stood out, it was standing at the front of the church.  I can remember it so clearly: my heart was pounding, waiting for the doors to swing open.  And then there she was.   (Michal) There were so many precious moments: walking down the aisle looking into Scott's eyes, my dad giving me away, and saying our vows were just a few.  Something that stood out was when Scott was washing my feet during the wedding ceremony, he looked up into my eyes, and with most sincere words said "I will serve you."  When I washed his feet, I said the same.  During this moment, I knew we were both putting aside our own selfishness and committing to serve, love and cherish each other for the rest of our lives.
Any advice for future Brides and Grooms?  (Scott and Michal) Have fun with the wedding day.  The whole engagement process is stressful, but by the time of the wedding week, it's too late for stress so just have a ball and laugh off little/big issues as they inevitably come.
Funniest moment of your day? (Scott) Well, my groomsmen were rather persistent about having Michal and I kiss at the reception.  Little did we know that they had planned public score cards to grade us during the evening.  That and laser tagging in our tuxes before the ceremony kept things pretty lighthearted.  (Michal)  It was hilarious seeing the groomsmen score us each time Scott and I kissed at the reception.
If you could do it all over again, would you change anything?  Absolutely not.  Yeah, maybe there were a few hiccups, but it was a such a phenomenal day.  We wouldn't redo any of it.
Where did you go on your honeymoon? (Scott and Michal) We went to Montego Bay, Jamaica!  While we did some cool stuff there (in the midst of a lot of relaxing on the beach) like snorkeling, ATVing, climbing up waterfalls, and swimming with dolphins; our late night swim in a luminous lagoon was probably the most unique adventure.  As we swam, the water naturally glowed around us.  So incredible.
What was your first dance song?  It's a good one that many people haven't heard - The Time of My Life by Mark Schultz.
What was your favorite photo moment? (Scott) I loved the off-the-cuff shoot we did down a perfectly lit dirt road.
(Michal)  I really enjoyed the photo shoot with the bridal party after the wedding, before the reception.  Everyone was having a good time!  I also really enjoyed the creativity during the photo shoot of Scott and me right before we went to the reception!
